Create configurations for each server based on monitoring needs
When errors and warning occur on servers monitored with the Flowan Sentinel software help desk cases are automatically created (leveraging the Flowan Help Desk integration). Some of the errors and warnings that occur on a given server will not be severe enough to want help desk cases created. Hence you want to be able to control when a help desk case is created.
The Flowan Sentinel software provides you the flexibility to define filters for logging a given error or events in the Flowan database but suppressing the functionality of creating a Flowan Help Desk case. You can also define filters (named “duplicate event filters”) so that only one help desk case is created even though the given event continues to occur. In this case, the Flowan Sentinel software will keep track of the number of times the given event occurs so you can respond accordingly.
Flowan Sentinel filters can be defined across all severs or defined for a given server. This capability offers you limitless flexibility in how you want help desk cases created for server events.
